During the 2024 Lisbon Tourism Fair (Bolsa de Turismo de Lisboa), Turismo de Portugal hosted a session that brought together various entities and companies to discuss the importance of an objective commitment to sustainability in the tourism sector. The session – Recognising companies committed to sustainability – took place at 2.30 pm on the 1st of March 2024, in the AVK auditorium, Pavilion 3.
During the session, led and moderated by journalist Ana Sofia Cardoso, the Companies Tourism 360º Programme publicly recognised companies that have taken on an ESG agenda and embarked on a journey that will allow them to analyse the impacts of their activity on the environment and the social systems in which they operate, while also creating value. At the same time, it distinguished those that produced sustainability reports generated through the FOREST tool in 2022, thereby measuring their ESG performance.
The initiative's programme included a conversation between Carlos Abade, President of Turismo de Portugal, and Cláudia Coelho, Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers, a specialist in Sustainable Business Solutions, as well as a round table with companies that are already part of this process.
